Early Folkart mammy statue from Maine original. This is a fantastic piece of American folkart. The mammy figure is made of the head being an early hat block with a wooden carved nose & hand painted eyes & mouth, the wig & eyebrows are horse hair, she has her original bonnet cap & clothes. She is standing 50" tall and is mounted on a wooden wheel stand. Her arms are wooden and are jointed with a hand painted wooden hand. Her skit has a tag that says Figure fit 1921. I believe it is much older than the 1920's era. She was bought in 1972 on the eastern shore of Maine, and has been in a home in Cartersville Georgia ever since. She could use a cleaning but we will leave that up to the new owner. She gets alot of attention.
