A fine New York flame mahogany Late Classical bureau, circa 1825, stepped with a dressing mirror above glove drawers fronted with a marble top, the base having a moulded top drawer above three graduated drawers flanked with alabaster columns with cast ormolu mounts, the whole rising on turned legs, 77.5''h x 43''w x 24''d, inscribed in India ink: ''Anita F. Smith,'' the back retains a de Young Museum label, ''Gift of The Anita F. F. Smith Estate''
