Chinese Manchu green jadeite plaque, of rectangular shape with rounded corners and set within a gilt metal strap, one side with a gilt-filled Chinese inscription 'Mei gui fei' (possibly Xianfeng Emperor's imperial consort Mei, 1837-1890), reversed by two lines of Manchu, the translucent matrix of emerald green tone with apple-green inclusions and suspended from a carved hongmu stand with jadeite and lapis lazuli beads bracketing the knotted suspension cord, overall 7.25''; pendant 2.25''h Provenance: Estate of Diana Engstrom, Northern California and Sweden
