(lot of 2) Chinese hardstone snuff bottles, the first 1860-1920, of brown and black agate carved to the front with a butterfly and cat, reversed by an eagle perched on rockwork, portions of the design picked out from the dark opaque inclusions of the translucent greyish-brown stone, with green-hued stopper (assembled), 2.25''h; the second 1880-1940, the slightly flattened tan chalcedony body carved and incised to either side with sages walking under majestic pine trees, the translucent honey-brown stone with some dark inclusions, the yellow stopper with a metal collar (assembled), 2.5''h; Provenance: Collection of Dennis Irish, Oregon
