Paul V. Ambrose and Drew J. Bauer present: This is the #2341 Jersey Central FM Diesel Engine that Lionel made circa 1956. Dull Orange Variation with the seldom-seen Original "2341" Box; the box alone has substantial value and often commands a price in excess of $1000. Our Opinion is that it is generally in Like New/Test Run Condition, no signs of use but with typical and very faint hairline cracks at the screw-holes evident on most examples. Correct 1956 chassis, battery plate with adhesive emblem, and two-part coupler discs. The Original Box is in (9-) Condition and includes the correct FM Insert and Lionel Paper.
