Huge Panel Card Signed and Inscribed by the "Divine Sarah" Bernhardt

Large Sepia-toned Panel Card Signed, "Sarah Bernhardt 1890", matted to 12" x 7", Very Fine. Includes a personal inscription, in French, to Henriette Dardelein. Here, the "Divine" Sarah poses in costume beside a spinning wheel. The image shows some light fading but is in otherwise good condition, and the inscription is bold. Ms. Bernhardt's pen appears to have run out of ink as she signed her name, as she has retraced the second half of her last name. Matted and framed under glass in a modern, gilt wood frame. Panel Cards, because of their large size and expense, are the rarest images of the period. It would have been a token of the highest esteem to have received an inscribed, signed photo from this incredibly popular actress.
