Very Rare Autograph Document Signed "John Brown" JOHN BROWN, famous American Abolitionist, known for his murderous attacks in Kansas and hung for his attack on the Harper's Ferry Arsenal. December 16, 1841, Autograph Document Signed, "John Brown," 1 page, 4"" x 7.75," Choice Very Fine. Written at Stow (Ohio), this document is a receipt which reads in full: "Received of O O Brown fourteen dollars and twenty nine cents, on two Barrels of damaged Flour, and twenty nine cents, to be applyed [sic] on said O O Browns note in my hands when the price of said Flour shall be agreed uppon [sic]." This well penned document was written some years before Brown's Abolitionist views erupted into the militant activism which made him famous. Light overall toning and quite legible with a very excellent, precise signature "John Brown." Early American will accept payment by check or credit card.
