Two Early American Published Books on the 17th Century Indian Wars In New England

1775 & 1801, "Narrative of the Indian Wars in New England", by William Hubbard, 1st & 2nd Editions, Two Books, Very Good.
Full title: "A Narrative of the Indian Wars in New England, From the first Planting thereof in the Year 1607 to the Year 1677." 1775, First Edition, leather over wood covers, with gilt border decoration and gilt page edges, 288 pages, 6.5" x 4", published by John Boyle, Boston. Front cover detached, covers and spine covering worn with pieces missing here and there. Corners are still square, though bumped and worn through. Front flyleaf detached but present. The title page and the rest of the book are still bound tightly. This book is complete and the text block is in great shape, aside from minor foxing, mostly along the margins of the pages. The pages are toned appropriately for its age, and no significant tears have been seen. A few pages are stuck together, but can be very carefully separated. Inside the front cover there is an old, round, black leather attachment, with a post horn inside a circle, all of which is gilt; perhaps a previous owner's bookplate. This is one of the earliest printed books on the subject of American Indian Wars. A very rare and important book which should be professionally rebound.
Also, the 2nd edition of the same book, 1801, "Printed at Worcester (Massachusetts) by Daniel Greenleaf, for Joseph Wilder", 410 pages, 6.5" x 4", half leather over marbled boards. The covers, spine and text block are complete, the front flyleaf is missing. The covers are worn and discolored in places, otherwise intact and in good shape. There is a 1/4" crack at the top of the spine. The back cover is slightly deformed from something heavy on top of it. The inside papers of both covers are rippled, either from being poorly applied or from being wet. The pages are browned and foxed throughout, and no significant tears or holes have been noticed. The binding is still tight. Though not as rare as the first edition, this book could be improved with professional care.

The title page says the author is Minister of Ipswich.
