New Jersey Currency
Colorful Red & Blue Printed March 25, 1776 Three Pounds

Colony of New Jersey. March 25, 1776. Three Pounds. "Bees on back" issue. Choice Crisp About Uncirculated.
Fr. NJ-182. Only 6,250 of these highly colorful Three Pounds were authorized to be printed. This clean, fresh looking note has vivd, bright red and blue printing on its face and deep, bold brown signatures adding to its excellent eye appeal. This note is signed by Robert Smith, Jonathan Johnston and John Smythe. The reverse is well printed in deep black with a nice vignette of Bees within the left outer border design. One very faint centerfold keeps this note from CU. One of the most colorful, popular and appealing Colonial notes dated in 1776, during the Revolutionary War and issued just a few months prior to the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
