Early Effanbee "Grumpy." "Hard to break" composition flange head with no visible mark. Molded, painted hair and features, closed pouty mouth. Cloth body with internal disk joints, composition lower arms, green, white and red striped legs with stitched-on black "shoes." Light paint touch-up, especially the whites of the eyes, hands repainted, stitched repair on one foot. Circa 1915. Very early and scarce ethnic version of this Effanbee character.
