Description German. Circa 1925. Tin litho. Rare character tin automobile is marked "Copyright Louis G. Ferstadt". Ferstadt was a Russian born artist whose early career as a toy designer was brief & who later became a comic book artist for comics like Plastic Man, The Human Bomb and The Bouncer. Eventually he made a name for himself as an artist with gallery shows in NY. Marketed by George Borgfeldt under their Nifty brand name. Possibly made by H. Fischer and Company in Nuremberg, Germany. When wound, man, woman and baby on woman's knee articulate up and down. Toy has very little wear. Toy is seldom seen at auction. Rare. Collection of Carl Lobel. Condition (Near Mint). Size 10" L.
