August Wilhelm Leu (1818-1897, German), signed "Leu 1867" in lower left. Artwork dimensions: Approximately 40" high by 60" wide. Frame dimensions: 46" high by 65 1/2" wide.August W. Leu was a very popular artist of his day and he participated in the 1878 Paris World Fair and obtained honorable mentions in the 1855 and 1863 World Fairs.
