Phillips; all etched by L. Schiavonetti. Blank protective interleaves for the plates. (folio) 15½x12½, period half calf & boards, rebacked with modern calf, red morocco cover label. First Edition.Rare and sought-after folio edition - there was also a quarto edition published the same year, which is more common. Some of Blake's most characteristic work is presented here, a striking interpretation of Blair's poem. Contains the rare four-page prospectus at the end. Bensley Date Published: 1808 Condition reportBoards rubbed; some foxing and soiling within; frontispiece portrait inlaid to size, and is possible from another copy, perhaps of the quarto edition; title-leaf with paper reinforcements at fore and bottom margins, the fore-margin a little extended, paper reinforcements to the margins of the plates facing pp. 21, 28 & 30 (possibly for aesthetic framing purposes?), neat repairs in the margins of a few text leaves and plates, else good to very good.
