Facsimile of first Venetian edition as frontispiece, text illustrations. 14¾x10¾, original bevelled green cloth, spine gilt. First Edition in English.Presented to the editor J.M. Child, with inscription on front free endpaper, dated 1922, with further inscription from Child to noted philosopher of science L.L. White, dated 1956, below. Occasional pencil marks and corrections by Child in the text. A translation of Theoria Philosophiae Naturalis, first published in 1763, Boscovich's most important work. The Latin and English are printed in parallel. With the bookplate of Haskell F. Norman.
