First Edition in book form.An important exposé of the horrors and abuses of child laborers in the cotton mills of 18th century England. Blincoe began his indentured service at the age of seven and completed his apprenticeship in 1813 at the age of 21. Interviewed by John Brown in 1822 Blincoe's memoir first appeared serially in Robert Carlile's radical newspaper 'The Lion' as well as in his 'The Poor Man's Advocate'. Blincoe is thought by some to have been the inspiration for Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist. COPAC locates only 5 copies, WorldCat locates 1 additional copy. Rare.
