About the work
The Cryptopunks are 10,000 unique collectible characters with proof of ownership stored on the Ethereum blockchain. They are one of the earliest examples of provably rare digital art and have been featured in Mashable, The Paris Review, Salon and The New York Times. The code behind Cryptopunks provided the template for the Ethereum collectible contract standard that now powers much of the digital collectibles movement.
About the artist
Larva Labs, the vehicle behind Cryptunks, is John Watkinson and Matt Hall. Over their 10+ years working together they have written chart topping apps for Android and iOS, done high profile work for Google and Microsoft and are currently focused on the unique opportunities made possible by the blockchain.
