Paris, Ambroise Vollard editeur, 1936, bound by Jacques Anthoine Legrain, copy 55/305, 26 original color aquatint etchings, signed "J. Anthoine Legrain" inside front cover, with Rosenthal book plate, 13 x 10-1/4 in., in matching slip case with gilt tooling and edges. Book dealer's name and code in pencil on one front paper, front and back papers with slight stain at binding possibly from glue, otherwise excellent condition. Reserve: $9,000 Provenance: Golden Legend, Inc., Beverly Hills, California, January 2006 (see attached information); Private Collection. Bookplate for Marie-Louise and Samuel Robert Rosenthal. Rosenthal was a well-known lawyer, Philanthropist and avid book collector. The Newberry Library in Chicago, Illinois holds part of his collection. Provenance: Samuel Robert Rosenthal.
