Monumental and unique Tiffany & Co. sterling silver centerpiece bowl. The piece has a hand-hammered texture to it and is marked, "SPECIAL HAND WORK" leading us to believe it may be entirely handmade. A presentation piece, the bottom of the interior is engraved, "PRESENTED TO MR. & MRS. WILLIAM A. SCHUTZ BY THE MEMBERS OF THE WOODMERE CLUB JULY 4 1921." This piece comes to auction from the original recipient and has not been offered for sale in nearly 88 years. Marked TIFFANY & Co. MAKERS 19460A 8240 STERLING SILVER 925-1000. Excellent overall condition with polishing hairlines and a few light scratches. 15 1/4" in diameter by 4 1/2" tall. Weight is approximately 59.9 troy ounces (sterling).
