A Moroccan Saddle and Horse Trappings

A rare and complete set made for a chief, the entire ensemble elaborately embellished overall in silvered wire embroidery, comprising saddle cover, saddle pad, breastband and forehead decoration, the central section of the saddle pad of red velvet. The breastband, headpiece, and saddle pad with tasseled borders. Late 19th-early 20th century. Saddle pad 96 cm overall length. Condition III
