Qajar Dynasty, comprising a rare helmet of demon head form with fully-modeled facial features and applied horns, with vandyked camail, spiked finial, plume holders and nasal, a shield with four central bosses and applied brass rim, and an armguard with buckles, wrist plates and original padded mail gauntlet, the set embellished en suite with etched heroes and foliate motifs and borders containing Quranic verses, with silver inlays overall. Mid-19th century. Minimal losses to camail and gauntlet. Diameter of shield 52.3 cm. Condition I
