Of classic form, mounted in gilded brass, the grips of translucent horn. The heirloom Turkish wootz damascus steel blade with characteristic raised backedge and deep central fuller, chiseled with raised panels and a circular cartouche at the right forte enclosing a lion. Leather-covered wooden scabbard mounted en suite with the hilt. Mid-18th century. Stable crack through right grip at pommel. Overall length 97 cm, blade 79.5 cm. Condition I
