A GROUP OF FOUR CHINESE AND JAPANESE BLACK LACQUER PAPIER MÂCHÉ TRAYS, circa 1860, one modeled as a scalloped dust pan decorated with parcel gilt and colorfully painted figures at various pursuits in a garden setting, a second circular tray with maidens being driven in a rickshaw within a mountainous waterside scene, another circular footed dish with shaped rim enclosing maidens and escorts on waterside steps while embarking on a gondola within a circular trellis centering Mons of sacred symbols, and another oval lobed dish depicting two fisherwomen in a waterside setting.
