(lot of 2) Confederate Civil War Cavalry Officer's double-breasted ''Frock'' Coat and Winter Overcoat, belonging to 2nd Lieutenant Samuel Bonn. Retains Maryland Seal buttons stamped ''Canfield Bro'' (Frock coat buttons painted over). Both coats have tail pockets. 'Frock' coat measurements: Elbow laying flat: 9”w and cuff (5 ½” w) The waist seam to tail 20 ½”h Waist to collar seam 20”h Collar 1 ½”h. (Loose buttons consist of: 3 for Frock Coat out of 8 button stitches; 14 for the overcoat out of 16 button stitches, and 5 extra cuff buttons). Bonn reference: Franklin: ''Burning of Chambersburg-Retaliatory,'' by Fielder C. Slingluff, November, 1909. Condition of the Frock Coat: moth hole by left shoulder on chest area approx. 3”h x 1.5”w, scattered moth holes, brown interior cloth separated, minor staining. Buttons and related family letters in office.
