Girtin (Thomas, 1775-1802) A View of Pont Neuf, Paris, pen with black and grey ink, with two tones of grey wash, 150 x 365mm., titled and dated, lower right, backed with acid-free paper, framed and glazed, 1801.***The drawing dates from Thomas Girtin's last trip to Paris, in late 1801 to early 1802, when he was already in failing health. Here he produced a number of drawings and watercolours from which he produced his famous series 'A Selection of Twenty of the most Picturesque Views in Paris and its Environs'.
