1934 JEAN PICCARD'S STRATOSPHERIC BALLOON FLIGHT

Extraordinary group of memorabilia items from the historic flight. Jean & Jeanette Piccard reached a record altitude of 17.5km (10.9 miles during this flight). Includes: yellow felt 'Ground Crew' armband; dark blue ribbon with gold lettering that reads: 'Piccard Stratosphere flight-Ford Airport, Dearborn, Mich., Guest, Sept. 1934, Sponsored by People's Outfitting Co. and Grunow Radio' (with original pin in pristine condition); yellow paper strip (11x4") reading 'OFFICIAL PICCARD STRATOSPHERE FLIGHT' (folded vertically at center with tape reinforcement on back) & bright yellow silk 17"x2" ribbon with: 'PICCARD STRATOSPHERE FLIGHT'. All pieces in excellent condition except for yellow paper item mentioned. A rare & very attractive group.
