Black & white 6"x8.5" litho of the Austrian born inventor & scientist who helped found the German 'Verein fur Raumschiffahrt' (VfR-Spaceflight Society) that would later bring together many of the minds who would make spaceflight a reality. He wrote: 'Der Vorstoss en den Weltenraum' (The Advance into Space) in 1924 which popularized Hermann Oberth's 'Die Rakete zu den Planetenraumen' (The Rocket into Interplanetary Space). He was the first space researcher do die during his research when an alcohol engine he was working on exploded with a piece of shrapnel severing his aorta. His signature is extremely rare. This is the first we have seen in all the years of our auctioning material. Very fine.
