Description
This interesting novelty cap was made by ILC (International Latex Corp.), Space suit contractor for the Apollo program. Label inside reads: ITEM CBBC/NASA PART NO. A-12 11-18-69/SIZE TO CHARLES PETE" CONRAD/SERIAL NO. 001/SPEC. CHARLIE BROWN BASEBALL CAP/CEI NO. 001/CODE IDENT. 74897/DATE 1/70/CONTRACT NO. NONE/ ILC INDUSTRIES, INC. Wonderful novelty from the days of the early Apollo program when the occasional bit of humor helped to relieve some of the tension of the astronauts' training regimen. A rare piece, will fit your standard Apollo helmet. The 'round headed kid' will be proud. Cap is about 15" in diameter with a 14"x6" bill. Blue & white, seems to be made of same material as Apollo White spacesuit shell. Has 'CONRAD' name tag on front with NASA extended Vector logo patch on bill. Very fine.
