Description
6”h.,Including two chestnut shaped aquamarine pocket flasks, one pattern molded in 24 swirled ribs , the other in 16 slightly swirled ribs , sheared lips , pontil scars : attributed to Zanesville , Ohio, and Mantua Ohio, c. 1820-30, no damage , some surface scratches and a patch of internal stain or haze on the 16 rib which is somewhat overblown, otherwise excellent;the Mantua pocket flasks are not as readily found as examples made at Zanesville, in the right light the impression seems to pop out; the 24 rib flask is perhaps one of the finest we've seen with its unusual elongated pattern molded neck and it’s high relief impression , exceptional!
Condition
pristine 24 rib, the 16 rib has some light scratches and patch of minor haze
