Rookwood Iris vase, irises, Schmidt, 19

Fine Iris glaze vase with life size purple and white irises painted by Carl Schmidt in 1902. There are two irises on the front and a single flower on the back. Marks include the Rookwood logo, the date, shape number 922 B, an incised W for white (Iris) glaze and the impressed monogram of the artist. Height 10 5/8 inches. Very little crazing. This is Schmidt's work at its best by any standards.
