Crisp Vellum glaze vase with lifelike blue crocuses done in 1914 by Carl Schmidt. Two flowers and a bud adorn the front and another flower and bud, the rear. Marks include the Rookwood logo, the date, shape number 946, an impressed V, an incised V for Vellum glaze and the impressed monogram of the artist. Height 10 5/8 inches. There is some peppering, especially on the shoulder, but the vase is uncrazed which is uncharacteristic for a piece from this period.
