Rookwood Standard, poppies, Toohey, 189

Handsome Standard glaze vase with red Art Nouveau poppies painted in 1898 by Sallie Toohey. The flowers are mostly found around the shoulder of the vase with undulating stems reaching up from the bottom. Marks include the Rookwood logo, the date, shape number 745 C and the impressed monogram of the artist. Height 10 3/4 inches. Minor glaze scratches.
