consisting of platinum & another alloy with Shakudo. Quite a rare item whose origins were ninja associated and made in Kyoto, as the Iga & koga ninja clans were both located close by in shiga the other side of
Lake Biwa. Most interesting about the Powder flask is its designed to speed load the pistol using a mouth piece to load the powder into the Pipe, but also this is a Weapon that the Ninja
blew Black powder into the air in close confines & then Ignited it by blowing the embers from the
Lit Pipe into it causing an instantaneous flash, smoke and confusion. It dates to about 1800:
The Japanese have been using platinum for over 250 years on weapons, you can see the platinum
clearly on the powder flask chain after its been Polished. you can also see it down inside the Barrel of the
pistol, its just the exterior is darkened as it was never polished. It has a couple coats of shakudo
applied. The platinum nuggets found in hokkaido are from typically 80% pure. The
heavy weight of both the pistol and powder flask is easily noticed upon inspection. Flask 3 3/4 inches. Pipe 3 inches.
