Scrimshaw Sword Cane-Mid 19th Century-The handle and part of the shaft is tightly covered with whaling or nautical knotted cord decoration. The spring hilt blade is 22 ½" and appears to be custom built by probably a sailor on a ship. It has an engraved silver collar, malacca shaft and a metal ferrule. The spring hilts are made of nickel silver and have pewter spacers between them and the blade. One hilt springs precisely and the other needs help. Ft.
