Description
Rare mat glaze scenic vase with a path leading into a wooded area and trees across a small lake, the work of Margaret McDonald in 1936. McDonald was one of the few artists working at Rookwood during the Depression and many of her efforts were scenic vases (mostly high glaze) made into lamps at the factory. Marks include the Rookwood logo, date, Special shape number S 2132 and the artist's monogram in blue slip. Height 11 5/8 inches. Neatly drilled through the bottom and with a minor glaze inconsistency at the rim.
