Description
8"h., deep steel blue, non-lead bottle glass, elongated pear shaped body, double dipped with German half-post method, sheared lip, blowpipe pontil; America or Germany/Austria, c. 1750-1785, mint condition. No ordinary flask, probably a one- off, the metal is clear & heavy with good character while the color is the prettiest blue your gonna see, made from copper and not cobalt oxide. The excellence and quality of this bottle, and others like it, are appreciated equally by both the European and American collector alike. Its more than a question of taste as we are bound by a common history, the old world and the new world, this blue bottle represents both; a stunning example in a rare form!
