Scarce "H.L. Leonard - Pat. Jun.12.1877" Marked Bi-Metal Trout Reel. With a 2 5/8" dia. (measured from pillar to pillar) and 7/8" spool width, this first model example with nickel silver side plates and bronze frame is stamped with the earliest "Pat. Jun.12, 1877" markings. This example has a full length cast bronze foot that shows light file marks and there is evidence of screw head use. The fixed click is very strong, matching the overall appeal of this true classic American trout reel. In about excellent condition.
