Original "C.F. Orvis - Maker, Manchester, VT. - Patented" Marked Fly Reel. With unusual gun metal finish over brass, this third version reel has a 2 3/4" diameter and a 1/2" wide spool, with screwed pillars. The foot pillars are directly connected to the slightly shortened foot, as are all third version Orvis reels. The screw on handle has been slightly cross threaded (a relatively easy repair) on this very good plus condition reel, with strong constant click and excellent finish.
