Original "C.F. Orvis - Maker, Manchester, VT. - Patented May 12th, 1874" Marked Fly Reel. This second version Orvis model 1874 fly reel has a rear click housing cap and a working click. Having a 2 3/4" dia., 1/2" wide spool, this riveted construction reel has a removable handle with a slight bend, a minimal amount of brass showing through the nickel plating, and full length foot with mild bends. With original walnut box, in very good condition.
