The Trory Wooden Minnow. From the Enterprise Manufacturing Co. (Pflueger) of Akron, OH, one of the single most historically significant American underwater minnows ever produced. This very early model, dating to 1900 or 1901 at the latest, features a crudely formed wooden tail, natural brown body with dark back, gold perch bars and silver belly with a fine hand painted gill mark on either side. This untouched example has the original hardware, uncleaned, including the side wire rigged treble hooks, through body brass line tie and rear hook hanger, square shaped spinners, and large, blemish free glass eyes. Discovered in a tackle box in the Canton, OH area, this Ex condition example would be difficult to upgrade. The Pflueger Trory Minnow is considered to be one of, if not the first, production wooden underwater minnow, creating a legacy that is unrivaled in both lure collecting and bait making history.
