The F.A. Pardee "Bass Bait" Kent, OH. First advertised publicly in the summer of 1900, one of the rarest of all early American minnows. This version, measuring 3 7/8", features German silver spinners, red glass bead spacers, and blemish free yellow glass eyes. Finished in silver with a dark brown back and brown hand painted gill mark, this double belly weight wooden minnow retains its original and very rare side string tied treble hooks. Affectionately known as the Pardee String Minnow, there are less known examples of this minnow than the seemingly more popular Trory Minnow from The Enterprise Mfg Co of Akron, OH, offered in the same time frame. With less than 10 known examples, this nearly 110 year old minnow is about Ex- with scattered pointers, rusty treble hooks, and wear around the front belly weight. Without a doubt, this is one of the most historically significant underwater minnows ever produced, making this a rare opportunity to acquire a museum quality classic.
