Edison Receives $100,000 In Stocks From His Own Company THOMAS A. EDISON. Typed Document Signed, “Thos A. Edison” in black ink on watermarked paper, February 29, 1916, West Orange, New Jersey, 13” x 6.5”, 4 pages, Choice Extremely Fine. This document contains the minutes of a special meeting of the Board of Directors of Thomas A. Edison, Inc., and has been trimmed along both edges. Objects of the meeting include: remaining 1,000 stocks, which were valued at $100 per share, which were being sold to Edison to settle a debt of $100,000 owed by the company to him. In addition to Edison’s famous “umbrella” signature, the final page of the document has been signed by his wife Mina, H.F. Miller, Wm. H. Meadowcroft, C.H. Wilson and Stephen Mambert.
