Beatles The Mystery Skin. During the recording of the Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts club band album, Edward Noel Oliver Smith, who formerly had been a roadie for John Mayall and Cream had joined The Pink Floyd. Whilst working for Pink Floyd he found himself at Abbey Road Studios at the same time as The Beatles who were recording Sgt Pepper. During that time he became friendly with mal Evans, the Beatles' road manager and asked him if he could have a any souvenir from the Beatles. Mal Evans informed him that he could give him a drum-skin that had been used by the Beatles but was no longer required as Ringo had for some time, been using Ludwig labelled skins. He then gave the redundant drum-skin to Mr Smith. The speculation of the history and whereabouts of the branded skins that were used by the Beatles has been chronicled, however The Fame Bureau have been supplied two sworn affidavits confirming the authenticity of the item and the circumstances of it's origin. One from Edward Smith, the recipient of the gift, another eyewitness to the event Peter Welsh, who confirms and corroborates Smith's recollection that the drum-skin was given to Smith by Mal Evans at Abbey Road Studios. A subsequent letter from Frere Cholmeley, Ringo Starr's solicitors in 1989 confirms that the drum-skin was once his property. GBP70,000-100,00
