An early 19th C. Sheraton mahogany inlaid eight day tall case clock with rocking ship automation signed on the dial "Jno. Armstrong, Newcastle" (rubbed and with imperfections). A ship of the line flying the Union Jack was a popular motif between about 1805-1825 celebrating Britain's naval victories in the Napoleonic Wars. The case has some imperfections, including some missing inlay on the base, and the clock runs, although badly in need of cleaning and oiling. The inlaid case stands about 7' 10" in height.
