Joseph Israels, oil on board of a lone woman by the sea. Painting from the George Thomas Estate, possibly cataloged as #13 in the collection "Children by the Sea", measuring 26" X 19".

The back has been reinforced against warping, the frame replaced.The painting has been black light inspected and although little or no florescence was noted through the varnish, several small areas of inpainting were found, the most obvious probably being an area of about 1/2 sq." about 3 " to the right of her head, in the sky area. Careful inspection of the board shows slight curvature when compared against the frame edge, but no evidence of splitting or board damage was noticed.
