Oil on canvas portrait of a little girl with a bird mounted in an ornately carved frame, note “Adele Kinson at the age of six. Painted by her uncle Henri Kinson, court painter to Charles X. Painted in 1828 at Paris…” and the frame signed “Boize”. Provenance: Estate of Maysie Morris Henrotin, wife of Blair Henrotin. 16”x11.75”
Condition reportFirst, this painting is under glass and therefore, makes it more difficult to ascertain complete condition. We believe the frame and stretcher to be original, there are some losses to the frame, do not believe it has ever been relined- cannot remove all the paper backing with the labels and notations, but under black light no evidence of inpainting the only area is directly to the right of her ear where there is a stain as seen from the front and back of canvas. Again, very difficult to be completely certain because of the glass.
