Tyrell who it seems didn't achieve his MD until 1900... Circa 1900. Supposedly created mild suction against the closed eyelid that provided an 'ocular massage' that could cure diseases like glaucoma and even do away with the need for spectacles. Classic piece of American quack medicine equipment.
Condition reportAverage condition. Bottom side of rubber ball joint cracked and fallen inside. Patina to metal strut. Includes original case which is in worn condition although 'Ideal Sight Restorer' is still clearly visible printed on the inside silk lid lining. Top of lid missing paper cover.
