Bernhard Pankok, Sideboard, 1900

H. 157.5 cm; 212 x 60 cm. Executed by Vereinigte Werkstaetten fuer Kunst im Handwerk, Munich, model no. 1957. American walnut, oak, solid and veneer, polished mat, turned, screwed, inlaid work in ebony and light-colored fruit-tree wood, door panels with fine linear design of whip-like branches. Cat. 1. Ausstellung für Kunst im Handwerk München 1901, Altes Nationalmuseum München 1901, p. 19, Room 5, 'Three-part sideboard with inlays', with illustration; Exhib. Cat. Bernhard Pankok, Westfälisches Landesmuseum Münster, Münster 1986, p. 232, p. 293-4, No. 103 (identical piece). The only recorded example of this sideboard model by Pankok.
