Wood, carved, stained black, polished mat, copper foil fittings, facet glass, ornamental carving in the manner of rising peacock feathers, ornamental key fitting, one ky. H. 194.5 cm; 128 x 7 cm. Exhibition catalogue Patriz Huber, Ein Mitglied der Darmstädter Künstlerkolonie, Mahtildenhöhe Darmstadt 1922, S. 27, No. VI., S. 53, colour plate VI. Although active for only a few year due to his premature death, Patriz Huber was one the central personalities of German Art Nouveau design. Active in many fields like jewellery and silver design, glass, textiles, carpets and books, his interest centered on furniture design and interior decoration. His furniture is rare (see lit. C. Bergner, 2009, as below).
