Carved wood in great detail, this lion is a replica of the original sculpture in Lucerne, Switzerland. The monument commemurates the Swiss guards who were massacred in 1792 in The French Revolution. Measuring 2.5" H x 6" W, with Roman Numerals carved in the front; "MDCCXCII"; consistent with the original.
