Spebsqsa, (Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America, etc.) an organization founded on April 11, 1938 by Owen C. Cash is one of the first organizations to preserve barbershop music. Now called the Barbershop Harmony Society. This is a great piece of history with this barbershop pole. Painted in red and white swirl, top and base are in gold. Spebsqsa sticker on pole and stamped on bottom illegible, however can make out Chapter and Spebsqsa. 11.5" H; minor paint loss; great condition.
